Meet Amy - Owner/American Mahjong Instructor
Amy's passion for American Mahjong inspired her to create Love to MAHJ. Introduced to the game by her mother nearly four years ago, she was instantly captivated by its intricate complexity. The tactile nature of the tiles, the ceremonial ritual of the Charleston, the strategic elements outlined in 'The Card,' and the exhilarating thrill of calling 'Mahjong!' drew her in completely.
As a resident of the Phoenix area for 40 years, Amy has built a life centered around her family and her community. She has been happily married to her husband, Ian, for 25 years and is the proud mother of two teenage daughters—one who recently left for college and the other who is just weeks away from getting her driver's license. With her children becoming more independent, Amy is transitioning from her years of dedicated service on parent school boards, the Board of Trustees, and the National Charity League. This new chapter in her life has provided the perfect opportunity to share her love of the Mahjong community by offering private Mahjong classes for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
