About Amy
Amy's passion for the game of Mahjong is the inspiration behind Love to MAHJ. Taught by her mother nearly three years ago, she was immediately captivated by its challenging complexity. She found herself drawn to the tactile nature of the tiles, the ritual of the Charleston, the strategy of "The Card," and the ultimate thrill of calling "Mahjong!"
A resident of the Phoenix area for 40 years, Amy has built a life centered around her family and community. Married to her husband, Ian, for 25 years, she is the mother of two teenage daughters—one recently off to college, and the other just weeks away from a driver's license. With her children becoming more independent, Amy is transitioning from her years of dedicated service on parent boards, a Board of Trustees, and the National Charity League. This new chapter has opened the perfect opportunity to share her love of Mahjong by teaching the game to others.
